The horn drops into a leather holder that laces closed around it and hangs from a belt loop, so it rides at your side and comes off in one motion. Polished dark with the natural banding fading up to pale at the mouth. Every horn is a different animal, so the colour and the curve vary piece to piece and yours will not match the photo exactly.
