Welcome to Hell dropped in 1981 and Newcastle's filthiest trio rewired what heavy music was allowed to be. Too raw for the NWOBHM purists, too metal for the punks, Venom built their own lane and called it black metal before anyone had a genre name for it. This Legions patch in red and yellow is for the patched jacket, the denim vest, the bag that's running out of real estate. Wearing it is a shorthand that other people in the know will clock immediately, a nod to the band that handed the torch to Bathory, Hellhammer, and every basement recording since.
