Turnstile had already built a devoted following through relentless touring and raw-nerve energy, but Glow On was the moment the wider world caught up. The Baltimore crew dragged hardcore punk through new wave, R&B and psychedelia without losing an ounce of the pit-ready intensity that made them matter in the first place. Tracks like Blackout and New Heart Designs hit with the same disorienting rush as early Bad Brains, while Underwater Boi sounds like something that fell through a crack in time. This isn't crossover as compromise. It's crossover as expansion.
