Ghostwoodlands, released in 2007, sits deep in that zone where experimental black metal stops being about aggression and starts being about atmosphere so thick it feels geological. This is Tasmanian wilderness rendered in static, drone, and raw tremolo, the sound of a place that doesn't care whether you survive it. Sin Nanna's entire approach has always been about isolation as method and material, and this record is one of the better arguments for why Australian black metal deserves its own category entirely.
