Skate Punk Patch

The patch on the back of a beat-up deck bag is doing more cultural work than most gallery installations.

No specific branding, just the raw iconography that links hardcore matinee shows to Thrasher covers to the kind of alternative streetwear that never needed a trend cycle to justify itself. Skate punk as a genre and a way of life gave us Minor Threat, Dead Kennedys, and a lot of broken noses, and a good woven patch is still the cheapest way to signal where you stand. Stick it on a hoodie, a backpack, a jacket that's already covered in them. Iron-on backing means it stays put without needing a needle.
