SHADOW SEASON The Frozen EP (2003) [Damaged]

Norway in 2003 was still shaking off a decade of chaos and producing some of the most genuinely strange melodic black metal the scene had seen, and Shadow Season were somewhere in that current.

The Frozen EP sits in that particular pocket where the harshness of black metal gets pulled toward something more atmospheric, more sorrowful. It's not pretty, but it has a quality that a lot of the era's more technically ambitious releases lost, that sense of cold. This copy is damaged, so approach it as a found object. Something that looks like it actually survived something. For the completist, the digger, or whoever just needs four bucks of Norwegian darkness in their life.
