Rancid are one of the few bands from the 90s punk revival who earned their stripes without anyone being able to argue about it. Tim Armstrong's voice, Lars Frederiksen's guitar, the Clash worship that never felt like copying because they actually understood why the Clash mattered, it all landed. "Who Would've Thought" sits in that sweet spot Rancid owned across their mid-period run, melodic enough to pull you in, rough enough to remind you where it came from.
