Hobart's finest export that isn't a whisky. Psycroptic have spent over two decades quietly destroying the reputation of every band that claims to play technical death metal, and Divine Council is them doing it again with a new lineup and zero interest in slowing down.

Released in 2022 on Season of Mist, this is the album where the riff architecture gets even more disorienting and the grooves hit harder than they have any right to given the tempo. Joe Haley's guitar work remains genuinely alien, and having Jason Peppiatt back on vocals gave the record a brutality that the previous era sometimes traded away for technicality. Australian technical death metal at its most uncompromising, on a digipak pressing with a bonus track that makes the physical format worth hunting down.
