PINHEAD GUNPOWDER: Trundle and Spring 7" (White)

Before Billie Joe Armstrong became a stadium act, he was playing basements in East Bay and throwing himself into side projects that nobody outside the scene knew about. Pinhead Gunpowder was one of those projects, and it remains one of the most honest things any of those guys ever put to tape.

Tründle and Spring is the kind of 7" that reminds you why the format exists: two or three songs, no filler, no label interference, just fast melodic punk with enough political bite to leave a mark. This is East Bay hardcore pop at its scrappiest, the stuff that was influencing kids in Melbourne before Green Day had a gold record. White wax, which is a nice touch for a record this raw.
