The split 7" is a sacred format. Two bands, one slab of wax, zero common ground required except the shared understanding that something needs to be said fast and loud.

Pentiti bring the Italian hardcore tradition to their side, a scene with roots going back to the anarcho-punk and political hardcore movements that made groups like Wretched and Negazione essential listening. HDPE out of San Jose hold down the American end, their side sitting in the harder, noisier territory where hardcore punk starts to blur into something more confrontational. Together the split does what the best splits always do: makes you want to track down everything both bands have ever touched.
