PARADISE LOST: Plague Within Cassette
Gothic metal didn't invent itself. Paradise Lost spent thirty-plus years proving that doom and melody aren't opposites, and The Plague Within is the record where they stopped pretending to care what decade it was.
Released in 2015, this is Paradise Lost at their most cavernous, Nick Holmes returning to death growls for the first time in twenty years while the band draped everything in funeral organs and slow-burning dread. It's the album that reminded a whole generation why the Halifax crew matter, drawing equally from Gothic-era sorrow and the death-doom heaviness they helped invent back when most people hadn't heard the word gothic metal yet. On cassette, that low-end weight hits differently. The format suits it.
Standard cassette format. UK origin.
