Wino is one of doom metal's true lifers, and The Obsessed are the band that proved it. Incarnate compiled the essential recordings of a group that never got the credit they deserved while they were doing it, a slow, suffocating, riff-forward slab of American doom that Black Sabbath made inevitable and The Obsessed made theirs.

The Ultimate Edition presses this across two LPs on white vinyl, which feels right for a record about heaviness, contradiction, and survival. This isn't the polished doom revival you hear from newer acts doing the rounds, it's the real thing, the stripped-down, bleached-bone source material that Goatsnake, Acid King, and Cathedral were all drawing from whether they admitted it or not.
