NOSTRADAMEUS Hellbound CD Album 2007

Swedish power metal has always had a particular gift for making you feel like you're riding a white horse into a battle you're definitely going to win.

Nostradameus aren't the most talked-about name in the Gothenburg diaspora, but Hellbound, their 2007 effort, is a solid slab of melodic power metal for the collector who goes deeper than the obvious picks. Fredrik Folkare's guitar work is tight, the hooks are big without being embarrassing, and the whole thing sits comfortably in that mid-2000s sweet spot where European power metal was still doing the thing earnestly and without irony. If your shelf has Hammerfall and Rhapsody and you're looking to fill the gap, this is the gap.
