Before the Ace of Spades, before the warpig mythology, before Lemmy became a statue outside the Rainbow, there was this. Recorded at Rockfield in Wales in 1975, On Parole is the document nobody was supposed to hear, the first proof that something called Motörhead existed at all.

United Artists shelved it. Sat on it for three years while the band rebuilt, re-formed, and became the loudest thing in England. When it finally dropped in 1979 the world had already caught up to what this recording was pointing at. It's raw, it's transitional, it's got one foot still in the pub rock era and the other kicking down the door to punk and heavy metal simultaneously. That's not a flaw. That's the whole point. For collectors of early British metal and punk history, this is ground zero.
