MOTORHEAD Bad Magic CD (2015)

Lemmy Kilmister recorded Bad Magic at 69 years old and still sounded like he could bench press a tour bus. Released in 2015, it was Motörhead's twenty-second studio album and, as it turned out, their last. He was gone by December. The man never made a bad record and he wasn't about to start.

Bad Magic is Motörhead at full throttle, no apologies, no detours into acoustic introspection. Warpig riffs, Phil Campbell burning through leads, Mikkey Dee hammering like the kit owes him money. The cover of The Rolling Stones' Sympathy for the Devil is either sacrilege or a power move, and honestly it lands somewhere closer to the latter. For anyone who considers themselves serious about heavy metal, hard rock, or just loud music done with conviction, this belongs in your collection.
