Tampa, 1991. Trey Azagthoth and co. decided death metal wasn't disgusting enough and made it devotional. Blessed Are The Sick is where the genre got its god complex, all Middle Eastern scales and Lovecraftian theology, and nobody's topped it since.

This woven patch represents one of the most important albums in extreme metal, full stop. Not hyperbole, just chronology. If you're building a battle jacket with any self-respect, Morbid Angel belongs on it. Preferably somewhere prominent, where poseurs can see it and feel bad about themselves.
