Sweden has been exporting misery in the best possible way since the early nineties, and Marduk have never once blinked. Iron Dawn is the 2011 EP that landed between Wormwood and Serpent Sermon, a short, brutal dispatch from a band who treat restraint as a foreign concept.

Four tracks, zero filler. The title track alone justifies the purchase, a grinding, mid-paced thing that sits somewhere between war metal and pure black metal contempt. The digipak format gives it a physicality that a digital stream simply cannot, and if you're the kind of person who owns this it probably sits next to your Panzer Division Marduk and a handful of Dark Funeral records.
