Mantis Marmessoidea Rosea Framed Specimen

Nature got there first. Before hot pink was a trend, before anyone called it bold or brave, the Malaysian rainforest was already doing it with a stick insect. Marmessoidea rosea, the pink-winged mantis, is one of those creatures that looks like a prop from a fever dream and turns out to be completely real.

This is a male specimen, which means slender, delicate-limbed, and about 5-6cm of pure surreal biology. The wings are a genuine deep rose pink with a wash of green at the body, the kind of colour combination a goth kid would wear to a wedding. Framed and ready to hang, this belongs in the dark corner of a flat where the shelves are full of skulls, taxidermy, and things that make guests ask questions.
