Melbourne's LUSTRATION occupies the same bleak southern hemisphere territory as Destruktor and Abominator, that strain of Australian black metal that is rawer and more hostile than its Scandinavian counterparts, as if the climate itself got into the recording. Psymbolik came out in 2012 and sits comfortably in the tradition of local underground acts who treat subtlety as a weakness. If you already own records by Cemetery Urn or Laceration Mantra, you know exactly what you are signing up for, and you know that is a recommendation.
