LORDI Deadache CD (2008)

Finland sent us Lordi, and the world was not ready. Mr Lordi and his rotating cast of monsters won Eurovision in 2006 dressed like they'd escaped a practical effects budget on a Hammer Horror set, and spent the next several decades proving it wasn't a gimmick, it was just who they are.

Deadache from 2008 is peak Lordi operating at full horror-rock excess, big radio hooks buried under monster makeup and graveyard theatrics. It's KISS if KISS had leaned harder into the schlock, GWAR if GWAR wanted a chorus you could actually sing along to. The band's reverence for classic heavy rock sits underneath all the latex and fake blood, and it holds the whole thing together. Hard to take seriously, harder to stop listening to.
