Labrys Pride Pin
The labrys has been doing symbolic heavy lifting for a long time, from Minoan Crete to ancient Greek accounts of the Amazons, a double-headed axe that carried weight long before anyone put it on a pin.
It was reclaimed as a specifically lesbian symbol in the 1970s, partly as a counterpoint to more generic LGBTQ+ symbols, partly because an ancient weapon associated with warrior women is genuinely a strong choice. The black and purple colourway on this enamel pin carries that history without needing to explain itself. It reads as both pride piece and gothic accessory, which is a combination that makes complete sense if you shop here.
