KASPYX come out of Germany carrying the full weight of that country's black metal and punk crossover tradition, the kind of sound that owes as much to discharge and Motörhead as it does to Darkthrone. Demo MMXXIII is exactly what a demo should be: unfinished-feeling in all the right ways, lo-fi without being precious about it, and sharp enough to draw blood. Raw black metal lives and dies by conviction and KASPYX have it. The cassette format is the only acceptable vessel for this kind of music. The year in Roman numerals is not an affectation, it's a mandate.
