Written and performed almost entirely by founding guitarist Demonaz, this is a record that understands its own lineage without being trapped by it. The riffs are epic, the black metal atmosphere is intact, and the album carries that specific Norwegian cold, that quality that made Pure Holocaust and At the Heart of Winter feel like actual winter. It's not a reinvention of the genre, it's a custodian's work, done with genuine conviction.
