Peter Tägtgren has been quietly one of the most important figures in extreme metal for thirty years, running Abyss Studio where half the genre's defining records were made, fronting Pain, and steering Hypocrisy through one of death metal's most interesting evolutions, from brutal Swedish brutality to genuinely melodic, almost alien-abduction-obsessed atmospheric territory.

The Arrival landed in 2004 and sits in a particular sweet spot in the Hypocrisy catalogue, spacious, menacing, with that cold Scandinavian production that makes everything feel like it's happening in a frozen field at 3am.
