When you put the drummer from Pantera together with the vocalist from Mudvayne, certain outcomes are not really up for debate.

Hellyeah had spent their first several albums finding the line between groove metal brutality and southern-fried swagger, and by Undeniable they'd stopped looking for it and just planted a flag. Vinnie Paul's drumming hits the way it always hit, with that particular combination of technical precision and pure physical impact that made the Pantera back catalogue what it is. Chad Gray brings the kind of vocal aggression that made Mudvayne worth arguing about in 2001. Together on a 2016 record they sound locked in, heavy, and not remotely interested in your opinion about it. Fans of groove metal, hard rock, or anyone who still has a Damageplan record in rotation will know exactly what this is and why it belongs in the collection.
