The name translates roughly to "terrible noise" in Norwegian, and Fryktelig Stoy are an Australian band that fully intends to deliver on that promise. Disappointment arrived in 2023 and the title is doing a lot of honest work.

Black/doom metal from Australia that leans into the bleakness without irony, this is slow, suffocating, and deliberate. It sits closer to the funeral doom end of the spectrum when it wants to, then pulls back into something rawer and more corrosive. Not for casual listening. Absolutely for late nights and people with a high tolerance for the heavy and the hopeless.
