By 2015, Fear Factory had survived breakups, lawsuits, and lineup chaos that would have killed lesser bands. Genexus is what came out the other side, and it sounds like a band with something to prove and the riffs to back it up.

Produced by Rhys Fulber, who goes back with the band to Demanufacture, Genexus locks into the Fear Factory sweet spot hard: Cazares's mechanised chug, Raymond Herrera's legacy hovering over the drum programming, and Bell's clean-to-harsh vocal interplay that defined a whole strain of industrial metal in the nineties and never stopped being devastating. Songs like Autonomous Combat System and Soul Hacker double down on the AI-and-warfare conceptual thread the band has been pulling since their debut. This limited digipak edition comes with two bonus tracks for the completists and the devoted.
