DISPOSSESSED: Dêmocide Cassette (Gold)

Portland has been quietly doing something interesting at the intersection of death metal and sludge for years, and Dispossessed are one of the better arguments for paying attention. Dêmocide drags the ugliest parts of both genres into the same room and lets them settle into something slow, filthy, and genuinely unsettling.

The title alone tells you the band isn't messing around with subtlety. This is death-doom with sludge's contempt baked in, the kind of record that sounds like it was written under grey skies and processed through years of justified frustration.
