There is a very short list of Australian metal bands that genuinely made the rest of the world sit up and take them seriously. Destroyer 666 is at the top of it, and they got there by being meaner and more unhinged than almost everyone else on the planet.

Wildfire, their 2016 return, is the sound of a band that had nothing to prove and proved everything anyway. KK Warslut and company delivered a record that rips through black metal and thrash with the kind of controlled aggression that only comes from two decades of not giving a damn what anyone thinks.
