Las Vegas doesn't usually conjure images of slow, crushing doom, but Demon Lung didn't get the memo. Formed in the desert and drenched in occult atmosphere, they arrived with The Hundredth Name fully formed, like they'd been rehearsing in a cavern for a decade.

Shanda Fredrick's vocals are the kind that make you sit up straight. Not shrieking, not clean in a radio sense, just enormous and deliberate, floating over riffs that move like tectonic plates. This is doom that earns its weight, drawing from the same bloodline as Witch Mountain's emotional intensity and Beastmaker's horror-tinged groove. If you've been sleeping on this record, your collection has a gap worth filling.
