In God We Trust, Inc. dropped in 1981 as a six-song EP and a direct broadside at the American religious right. Jello Biafra was already in a San Francisco mayoral race two years prior, so nobody should have been surprised when the band put a gold crucifix on the cover and started swinging.

The Dead Kennedys sit in a category of their own in the punk and alternative canon, politically literate in a way that made comfortable people deeply uncomfortable, and funny enough that you almost forgot how sharp the point was. This patch carries that weight. It belongs on a vest next to your Crass, your Bad Brains, your Anti-Flag, wherever you keep the bands that had something actual to say.
