If you've ever had a beer thrown at you by someone who meant it as a compliment, you already understand the Cosmic Psychos. Melbourne's finest purveyors of sludged-out, sun-damaged pub rock, they were the band Nirvana name-dropped before American kids had any idea what a Collingwood bottle-o looked like at 2am.

Glorius Barsteds landed in 1991 and did exactly what it says on the distorted, feedback-smeared tin. This is Australian punk at its most honest, recorded like it was done before anyone could change their minds, and it holds up better than most things from that decade. If you're building a serious Australian underground collection, this is not optional. Used condition, so it comes with a bit of history already built in.
