Code Orange have always been a few steps ahead of where hardcore was willing to go, and Underneath is the album that proved it. Produced by the band themselves alongside Kurt Ballou, Underneath collapses the walls between metalcore, industrial, noise and pure chaos. Jami Morgan's drums hit like structural damage. The digital distortion, the sudden silences, the glitch-out moments that feel like a corrupted file becoming self-aware, it's a record that rewards headphones and punishes passive listening. This isn't background music. It's confrontational art from a band who genuinely don't care if you keep up.
