Horror doom that takes its cues from Italian genre cinema and basement organ worship. Blizaro are the kind of band that names tracks after the films on their VHS shelves and means it as sincerely as possible.

City Of The Living Nightmare landed in 2010 and found John Gallo channelling Goblin, Pentagram and something older and stranger into eight tracks of slow, lurid darkness. The title track opens proceedings across eight minutes of deliberate dread, and from there you get In The Basement Of St. Jerome's, Eyes In The Caskets, Castle Of Darkness, and Island Of The Dead, all of which do exactly what their titles promise. This is doom for people who think the horror aesthetic in metal got left behind somewhere around 1985 and have been looking for it ever since. The organ tones alone are worth the price of entry.
