The Black Flag bars are one of the most recognised symbols in punk history, right up there with the anarchy A and the circle pit scar on your elbow. Greg Ginn and Henry Rollins didn't invent hardcore, but they codified it, weaponised it, and took it on the road in a van that smelled like broken dreams.
