When Alice Cooper's own brother-in-law forms a band, you pay attention. When that band then pulls Alice himself into a reworked version of Feed My Frankenstein, you clear some shelf space.

Beasto Blanco is the project of Chuck Garric, Cooper's longtime bassist, and this self-titled record lands somewhere between industrial metal and hard rock swagger with enough dark energy to keep things interesting. Produced by Ryan Greene, who has worked with Cooper and Lita Ford, the record has the pedigree to back the name-dropping. The European special edition includes bonus tracks and that amped-up Frankenstein collaboration, which is exactly as unhinged as it sounds. This is music for people who grew up on shock rock and never outgrew it, which is a compliment.
