ARNOCORPS: The Fantastic Vinyl LP

San Francisco's ArnoCorps operate on a simple and completely correct premise: the films of Arnold Schwarzenegger are ancient Austrian warrior mythology, and hardcore punk is the appropriate vessel for retelling them. Nobody has ever been more right about anything.

The Fantastic, released in 2005 and pressed again in 2008, is their debut full-length, and it plays like a document from a parallel universe where action cinema and action-adventure rock 'n' roll were always the same thing. Tracks about Predator and Commando delivered with the fury of early Bad Brains. It is aggressively stupid in the best possible sense, the kind of punk record that rewards people who take it completely seriously. The fact that it exists at all is a gift. The fact that we stock it is frankly an achievement for this store.
