Chile's extreme metal underground doesn't get nearly enough attention down here. It should. Apostasy have been part of it since the late eighties, and The Unknown Path carries that lineage without apology.

This 2020 EP cassette sits firmly in the black/thrash tradition, the kind of music that sounds like it was recorded in a bunker and played back through a blown speaker, which is a compliment. Think early Kreator and Sodom filtered through South American rawness, the sort of release that tape traders used to lose their minds over. Physical cassette format only adds to it. The underground gothic and metal communities in Melbourne and beyond have always kept this stuff alive, and ALT CVLT is exactly where it belongs.
