Rainier Fog, released in 2018, is the Seattle band's fifth studio album and their most explicitly nostalgic, named for the mountain that loomed over the city where they lost people, built a scene, and outlasted almost everyone around them. William DuVall has been fronting AIC since 2006 and by this point the chemistry is undeniable, with Jerry Cantrell's down-tuned sludge riffs and the band's signature dissonant harmonies hitting as hard as anything in their catalogue. This is dark alternative metal that earns its weight.
