ALCATRAZZ No Parole From Rock 'N' Roll CD (Signed) 1983
Before Yngwie Malmsteen became a meme, before the endless solo records and the impossible technique turned into its own punchline, there was this, a debut album from a band assembled specifically to give one Swedish teenager a platform to melt faces in front of an actual audience.
No Parole From Rock 'N' Roll is where it all started for Alcatrazz, and it still sounds like something barely contained. Bonnet had just come off his stint with Rainbow and brought that whole larger-than-life energy with him. Yngwie was 19 and completely feral. Jimmy Waldo held the keys down while everyone else was going unhinged. The result is one of the definitive heavy metal shred records of the era, a document of a very specific moment when technique and song actually found each other.
Signed by Graham Bonnet and Jimmy Waldo. CD format, full length album, 1983. USA origin.
