WITCHBOUND End Of Paradise CD (2021)

Six years is a long time to sit with a debut, especially one that turned out to be a farewell. Tarot's Legacy closed the book on Harald Spengler's story, and End of Paradise had the unenviable job of carrying Witchbound forward from that shadow.

Released on Walpurgis Night 2021, because of course it was, this second album keeps the melodic metal DNA intact: dark atmosphere, European sensibility, the kind of riff architecture that takes its time and means it. It's a record for people who believe metal can carry genuine weight without abandoning melody, the kind of gothic, melancholic heavy music that the German scene has been quietly perfecting since the mid-eighties while everyone else looked elsewhere.
