WASP Inside The Electric Circus 1986 Ltd Ed Orange Vinyl (2003)
1986 was peak chaos for WASP, a band that had already survived Senate hearings, mass moral panic, and Tipper Gore's personal vendetta, and then made an arena rock record anyway. Inside The Electric Circus is the sound of Blackie Lawless refusing to blink.
Often overshadowed by its predecessor The Last Command, this album has the kind of hard rock swagger that wears its heavy metal roots openly and its glam influences without shame. It's been reappraised hard in the years since, and rightly so. This 2003 limited edition pressing on orange vinyl is numbered 995 out of 1000, making it genuinely scarce, the kind of thing that doesn't show up twice. If you're building a serious alternative or hard rock vinyl collection, a numbered pressing this deep in the run doesn't come back around. The orange wax is striking on the shelf and sounds the way WASP always deserved to sound, loud and a little dangerous.
