Stockholm's most chaotic post-punk band named themselves after a pharmaceutical product and somehow wrote one of the sharpest records about modern alienation in years. Make of that what you will.

Released in 2021, Welfare Jazz is Viagra Boys at peak dysfunction, which is exactly where you want them. Sebastian Murphy's sardonic baritone crawls over a sound that pulls from no-wave, dance-punk, and the kind of free jazz that makes your upstairs neighbours nervous, touching on masculinity, failure, fast food, and general societal rot with the delivery of a man who has genuinely considered all of it from a bar stool. The guest appearance from Amy Taylor of Amyl and the Sniffers is the Australian underground and the Swedish underground shaking hands in a very loud room. It's raw, it's funny in a way that makes you uncomfortable, and the saxophone is doing something illegal on at least three tracks.

12" vinyl LP. Standard black pressing, limited colour variants may be available, check stock. Origin: Sweden (Stockholm). Genre: post-punk, dark alternative, art punk.
