The early 90s American underground was absolutely crawling with bands who should have been huge and weren't, and Trash Can School sit comfortably in that tradition. Volume War came out in 1993 when alternative rock still meant something antagonistic, and these guys wore it accordingly.

If you've been down a Pink Slip Daddy or Sleez Sisters rabbit hole, you already know the neighbourhood. This is the kind of record that got traded on cassette before anyone had a website, the kind that completists hunt for years and then find in a bin for six bucks. We found it in a bin.
