When Dear Desolation dropped in 2017, Thy Art Is Murder made it clear they weren't interested in meeting deathcore halfway. This was the record that silenced anyone still treating them as a regional footnote and announced them as one of the most devastating bands Australia had ever produced.

Recorded with producer Will Putney, Dear Desolation is surgical and suffocating in equal measure. The riffs hit like concrete, CJ McMahon's vocals sit somewhere between a war crime and a theological argument, and the whole thing moves with the kind of focused brutality that most bands spend entire careers chasing.
