Mike Muir has been telling people to institutionalise him since 1983 and somehow that never stopped being correct. Still Cyco After All These Years dropped in 1993 as both a love letter and a gut-check, re-recording the entirety of their self-titled debut plus a handful of extra tracks, tighter and gnarlier than ever.

The original Suicidal Tendencies LP was the record that proved punk and metal weren't enemies, it was crossover before crossover had a name. This re-recording doesn't sand the edges off, it sharpens them. Muir sounds like he means every single word more than he did the first time, which is saying something given how unhinged that first time was. If you grew up skating to Institutionalized or came to it later through the skate video rabbit hole, this version hits differently once you realise a decade of chaos had passed between takes.
