STROMMOUSSHELD Behind The Curtain (2003) CD
Poland's industrial underground has always operated in the shadows of the shadows, and Strommoussheld sit comfortably in that tradition. Behind the Curtain is the kind of record that sounds like it was recorded in a facility that doesn't officially exist.
Released in 2003, this avant-garde industrial effort occupies the uneasy space between structured noise and something that actually swings, in the most dissonant possible way. It's not ambient wallpaper and it's not dancefloor fodder. It's confrontational, strange, and deeply committed to its own logic, the hallmarks of a scene that never cared whether you got it or not. If your collection already has Skinny Puppy, Genocide Organ, or Controlled Bleeding in the mix, there's a gap here with this thing's name on it.
