Finland in 2008 was producing thrash metal with a cold, mechanical edge that most of the world was too busy rehashing Bay Area classics to notice. Solitaire were part of that overlooked wave, and Predatress is the proof.

Sharp, aggressive, and locked in tight, this is thrash that leans into the riff rather than the solo worship. There's a precision to the attack here that fits neatly alongside the Finnish metal tradition of bands who take the genre seriously without disappearing up their own influences. Predatress opens with the churning "Spin the Saw" and doesn't let up, the title track hitting that sweet spot between speed and groove that good thrash lives in.
