Say what you like about Slipknot, and people always have opinions, but a band that can headline Download, put nine members on stage, and still sound genuinely dangerous twenty-five years in deserves a bit of respect. The End, So Far from 2022 is a record that doesn't try to recapture Iowa and is better for it, sprawling and cinematic in ways that sit closer to alternative metal experimentation than the nu metal nostalgia trip it could have been.
