When Slipknot dropped their debut in 1999 the logo was everywhere, back patches, spray-painted on school bags, scratched into desks by kids who had just found something that finally made sense. This is the oversized version, built for the centre of a jacket or the back panel of a bag where it can do real work. Big enough to be seen from the pit, which is the point. The Slipknot logo sits in the same cultural shorthand as the Misfits skull or the Danzig crest, immediately legible to anyone who grew up in the alternative and metal underground.
